Review Blitz: The Prince's Bride Part 1 by: J.J. McAvoy

I have not blogged about a book in a long time. Not because I haven’t read any good stories, but because time has simply not allowed me to reflect on the goodness of a great read. So, during a period of time when I was forced to unplug for a few days for the betterment of me, I was gifted with an ARC that reminded me of why I love to read. The Prince’s Bride Part One was nearly perfect!

J.J. McAvoy introduced us to Prince Galahad “Gale” of Ersovia, who is the typical playboy prince. However, his family needs him to grow up and take his princely duties seriously to save the monarchy. He is clearly reluctant, however duty to family and country decides his fate as he decides to go along with his brother’s latest plan, which involves Odette Wyntor.

Odette Wyntor is an American billionaire heiress, trying to live her best life, but her deceased father and dramatic mother just won’t let her be great. Why you may ask, because she can’t touch her millions or billions until she meets the stipulations her father outlined in his will. So, what happens when you put a dramatic mother and a financially strapped monarchy together, you get one heck of a story in the Prince’s Bride.

Now, this story had its fair share of twists and turns, but the characters were well developed and relatable in that it wasn’t a story that was so far-fetched that it was unbelievable. I enjoyed the pace of how Gale and Odette grew to know each other and came to a decision regarding their fate on their own terms. I know there is much more to discover with all the different relationships that are ever present in this story,  so I am looking forward to seeing how Gale and Odette continue to grow. This was truly a couple that was sweet and funny and all the things that will keep you wanting to read more about them.

I digress. Remember when I mentioned that this read was nearly perfect, I say that because it left one helluva cliff hanger. Like I felt left alone. Desolate. Confused. Anxious. Shall I go on? Anywho, enough with the dramatics, I am going to give this read 5-stars, because it is a great story with a multi-cultural cast of characters and so many of all the things you look for in a romance novel. I am going to recommend that you run and pre-order The Prince’s Bride Part One that is available at all of your major ebook retailers.

Review Blitz: Cruel Fortune by K.A. Linde

Lose yourself to the dark and glamorous underbelly of the Upper East Side in the second book in USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde's new billionaire romance Cruel Trilogy.

I finally have everything I ever wanted--fame
and fortune and literary success.

Only one problem: I lost my muse.

He was tall, dark, and handsome. Broody,
enigmatic, alluring, and right for me in every way.

Until he wasn't. Until I lost everything.

And I can't lose it all again. I'll do anything
to keep it.

Even seeing him again...

My Review

How can something be so wrong seem so right? Well let me tell you about Cruel Fortune by K.A. Linde, the second book in the Cruel Trilogy. In this installment, Natalie's writing career is definitely on the upswing, but her love-life is a plain ole cluster flock. With so many things happening in this second installation, I didn't even know who I was rooting for when it came down to Penn and the Upper East Side clique known as the Crew.

Things are nothing how they appear, where  up is down and left is right. There is so much confusion and a sinking realization that the Crew needs therapy. Like they are seriously cray-cray to a point where they give zero f*cks about no one or nothing besides what they want to do and who they want to do it to. From sex to drugs and all things in the middle, this story is going to take you on an emotional ride that will have you either cussing or gasping at all of shenanigans that unfold.

I digress. After reading this book I am shooketh, because there is no other word that can adequately describe the feels I have after reading this story. AS such, I am going to give this read 4-stars and suggest you jog and read Cruel Fortune, by K.A. Linde, because if you like drama that's a combination of Cruel Intentions and Pretty Little Liars, you will enjoy reading this series. I can't wait to read the final book in this series, Cruel Legacy this summer!

Lose yourself to the dark and glamorous underbelly of the Upper East Side in USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde's new billionaire romance Cruel Trilogy.

She was supposed to be a one night stand.

A way to sate my sexual appetite.

I let her glimpse the man I am. The face that I hide behind my carefully cultivated life.

But she ripped open that divide--and there's no going back.
Now, she's here. In my city.

I don't care that I'm Manhattan royalty and she's the help.

Only that she's living in my summer home. With me.

And I want more.

My Review

Bay, Bay, let me tell you... this book was ever-ry-thang! Do you hear me? Natalie and Penn were ever-ry-thang! Their story, that started with a one night stand six years ago, was ever-ry-thang! I mean K.A. Linde breathed new life into 2019 with this release of  Cruel Money, the first book in the Cruel series. There was so much drama, like it was as if the characters of Cruel Intentions and Gossip Girls merged together to form the Crew, who were equal parts main characters and supporting cast at the same time.

Anywho, initially, I hated Penn, he came off as a total jerk, but it was not long before he had woo'd me over and I was rooting for him to win. Natalie, on the other hand, was likable from the start with her Daenerys Targaryen hair and her easy going, no nonsense, inquisitive nature. Together, these two had enough drama between them, but the Crew added a layer of tom-foolery that was beyond me and baby girl Natalie.

I digress. I am going to give this read 5-stars and recommend that you run and read Cruel Money by K.A. Linde! Why? Because it is not only good, but it is well-paced and will leave you wanting to know what happens next, which is a great sign for a three part series. I can't wait to read Book Two Cruel Fortune, because... well...what you need to do is just go and read Book One for yourself. Oh and don't forget to read One Cruel Night which is a free prequel to Cruel Money available at all major digital book retailers. Thank me later and happy reading!

Release Day Review: Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan

Synopsis

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multi-million-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***
He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

My Review

Are you ready for some football? Well, I'm not much of a football fan, but I absolutely loved Dear Jane, by Kendall Ryan. If you love a good second chance romance novel that is swoon worthy and steamy, look no further. Wes and Jane had a passion, that has served them well for the good, the bad, and the indifferent times, over the years. And as we get to know them and they get to know each other, we start to believe that this love could be for forever. Or will it?

Overall, I enjoyed this read. I liked the way it was written and the steady build up of the Wes and Jane's grown-up kind of love. I also liked how their parents were active participants in their story but not too much, and the supporting characters in the story that added a nice touch and a peeked interest into their lives off the field. I am going to give this one 5-stars, just because it was a cute and genuine contemporary romance that had its ups, downs, all-arounds, and why did he do that that warrants you to run and read Dear Jane, by Kendall Ryan.

Review & Promo Tour: Blood Cure by K.A.Linde

BLOOD CURE
BLOOD TYPE BOOK 3
By K.A. Linde

AVAILABLE NOW!
The stunning conclusion to the Blood Type series finds the world in chaos and turmoil with one final battle left to determine who will survive—humans or vampires.

She had the world on her shoulders. Now she has nothing.
Reyna Carpenter was twenty-one when she became a live-in blood escort for the ruthless and darkly handsome vampire Beckham Anderson. She thought this was just a small price to pay for feeding her brothers back home.

But nothing went as planned. Not even her tumultuous relationship with Beckham. And now she wonders if anything will ever be the same again.

As she finds herself in the midst of a losing rebellion, she and her trusted friends must flee from a city conquered by the vampire elite. With their plans blown to pieces and everything they knew and loved gone, their future hangs in the balance.
Despite all she has lost, Reyna must rise from the ashes, reclaim the life that was stolen—and complete her mission, once and for all.

My Review

Blood Cure by K.A. Linde picked right back up where Blood Match left off. I had hoped that this third and final installment of the Blood Type series would begin with Reyna awakening from a nightmare and somehow things were all right again. However, the beginning was what is what, the aftermath of what had began a new new world order of events.

Reyna Carpenter has really grown since the beginning of the series and continues her growth as she tries to right the wrongs of Visage. She is definitely not the almost annoying heroine we were introduced to in Book One, Blood Type. Her growth and adventures made Blood Cure a page turner, finger swiping read that left me with very little I can tell you without telling you every thing, and I don't believe in spoilers...well at least not today. But I guarantee you that there are enough twist and turns and ups and downs that will leave your head spinning.

This book was emotional. Like really emotional, from the lowest of the lows, to love and lost, to triumphs ever lasting, however, this was not my favorite of the series.  There was so much chaos...good, horrible, and indifferent and by the last word I was left with more questions. I mean I don't think my questions would warrant another book in the series, but there were questions all the same.

I digress. This book did what it needed to do by tying up most of its loose ends to complete this series, and for that I am going to give this one 4.5-stars and recommend that you run and read Blood Cure, by K.A. Linde.

A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.
For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.
In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.
Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.
For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.
Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story continues in Blood Match.

As the provocative, sensual Blood Type series continues, the rare bond between Reyna and Beckham is threatened by betrayal, greed, and twisted secrets.
A desperate human. A powerful vampire. A world divided.
Reyna Carpenter was promised paradise. She was delivered into hell.
Giving up her body for money was supposed to be the hardest part of becoming a blood escort. She never expected to lose her heart to her dark, enigmatic boss, Beckham Anderson. After being taken by a depraved captor who plans to rule the world, Reyna will do anything to return to Beckham.
She just has to find the will to survive this game.
From the pawn, rises a queen.

Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story begins in Blood Type and continues in Blood Cure.

My Review

Let me start by saying I really like Blood Type. It was different, but well written. Sometimes difficulty to connect, but intriguing all the same. Reyna was annoying, but who wouldn't be with a lack of showers. Lastly, Beckham, well his name alone should have cause a bit of social anxiety, but he was cold a distant, because he had a lot of crap going on. So, after my 5-star review of the first installment of  this series, I was hopeful for so many reasons to read Blood Match by K.A. Linde, the second book of this series. Bay-bay, let me tell you, Blood Match  was EVERYTHING!

My Review

Finally, I can share with the people my review of Blood Type by  K.A. Linde. I am definitely a fan of hers and was captivated by the Wright series and am anxiously awaiting whatever is to come afterwards, but Blood Type, was definitely different. It was different because it was a paranormal romance that was dark and dank in some parts and bright and sunny in others. K.A. Linde introduced me to an area where vampires were running the government by providing a small sliver of hope for humans after an economic meltdown.
