Release Me by:Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers

The second in the “seriously sexy and sinfully steamy”* Chasing Fire series, about a pain too deep to forgive and a passion too hot to forget...

Alessandra Sinclair knows that Hudson Chase is the last man she should want. The boy from the wrong side of the tracks has grown into a man who would do anything to get ahead, even if it means breaking Allie’s heart. But whenever she’s near him, the attraction between them is undeniable. And now that they’re working together, keeping her distance from Hudson is almost as impossible as keeping her feelings in check...

Hudson already lost Allie once and he refuses to lose her again. He’s determined to use their new business partnership to rekindle the spark he knows is still there. Only the closer he gets to winning her over, the clearer it becomes there are still secrets that could tear them apart for good...

So, in the second book of the Chasing Fire series, Release Me by Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers, we pick right back-up where Remind Me left off with the tragic realization that Allie’s parents had been murdered and her having to pick up the pieces of her heart, coming to terms with the fact that her family had manipulated her, and salvaging the family’s empire. With her being the only heir, she is now running the show along with her love, her foe, Hudson Chase.

Hudson is distraught for a number of reasons, all of which revolve around Allie, as he tries to maintain a safe distance allowing her to mourn and hopefully make her way back into his arms and especially into his bed. These two play this cat and mouse, merry-go-round, hide-and-go-seek, or some variation of a chase and find game, as long as they both could stand it before reality sets in, that they cannot live without each other now that they have been reunited after 10 long years.

I liked this story a little better than the first one because you got see more of Hudson’s brother sober and Allie’s best friend tell it to her like it is. I can appreciate a voice of reason from a supporting character every now and again. Also, there was some real emotional moments especially the way Allie hated Hudson and wanted him all at the same time. This is demonstrated by that too hot for television elevator scene. You also got to see some of the depths of Hudson’s love for both his brother and Allie.

I digress. Overall, I liked this read. The end was the best part that definitely set the tone for Book 3. So, I will give this one 4-stars. It’s getting there and I’m excited to see what the conclusion of this series has in store, Therefore, I am going to recommend that you jog on over and read Release Me by Ann Marie Walker and Amy K. Rogers.

With Chasing Fire being your inaugural series, when did the each of you know that you wanted to become authors?
Ann Marie had already written one book and Amy came from a screenwriting background so     writing has always been a part of our lives.

What was your inspiration for the story of Alessandra Sinclair & Hudson Chase? Why was their story the ONE to be told and shared?
We started out as a take on Jane Austen’s “Persuasion”: The timing might not have been right for them long ago, but fate brought them back together and in that there was a story to be told.

What's next for you?
We just finished the third book in the Chasing Fire series, Reclaim Me, which will be available October 20, 2015.

What is your 6-word memoir that describes why readers should take notice of you?
Unique and distinct blend of voices.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
We’d like to thank the readers for taking a chance on a pair of debut authors and we couldn’t be happier to have them along for the ride. The tweets and Facebook messages sent literally from around the world never fail to humble and touch us. We hope to do them (and Hudson) proud.
