USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly cranks up the heat for two lifelong friends whose most secret longings come true in every delectable way.
Vivacious and successful, Ava Meyers is living her dream life, except for one thing: Ever since childhood, she’s been in love with her best friend . . . and she’s never admitted it. Back then, Sam Farrow was a damaged young man with a tough past. Now he’s supremely confident, super-sexy, and totally untouchable—until the night when Sam pretends to be Ava’s boyfriend to save her from some unwanted attention. In a moment of weakness, Ava finds out that a long friendship is no match for blistering sexual chemistry.
After years of denying his own feelings, Sam finds that one amazing night with Ava isn’t enough to chase away all the pent-up fantasies. So he proposes they spend a few weeks driving each other wild, exhausting their every desire, and then return to their perfect platonic relationship like nothing ever happened. But Sam’s plan has one fatal flaw: the part where they give each other up. Because the more they let go of their inhibitions, the more they’re tempted to never go back.
Touch & Go by Mira Lyn Kelly was just plain ‘ol everyday
good!!! I liked Ava Meyers, an attorney
and the heroine of the story from the very beginning. From a grown-up depiction
of her to the young girl portrayal, she was just so likeable and relatable. And
then there was her best friend and Sam Farrow who was just a little bit of
everything any girl could ask for in her dream guy. He was funny, he was
charming, and had the looks with the body that many of women simply couldn’t
resist. I mean one would be inclined to call him a man-whore with a gorgeous
smile.
These two, along with Ava’s brother Ford, have been friends
for twenty years. But for the majority of those twenty years, Ava has loved Sam
and has fought for years to keep these feeling buried. Conversely, Sam has
loved her, but has always thought he was just not good enough for her to love
him back. So, basically for twenty years these two have been struggling with themselves
to do whatever they thought it took to keep the other one in their lives, even
if it meant living half a life.
So after one night of Sam accompanying Ava to a work
function and a dare neither of them balking at the challenge, their lives changed
forever. Thus, the drama and shenanigans ensued. From their fun and relatable friends
to the flashbacks that told us how Ava and Sam and Ford became to be. I also got
a glimpse of the horrifying events of Sam’s life that he hides behind his
bright smile.
I nearly loved this novel because I initially thought this
was a stand-alone. I mean Sam’s and Ava’s story had all but ran its course, but
I felt there was something missing. But then just as I was sulking about that
feeling of something being missing and I really wanted to know more about that Ford,
I learn that there may be a chance of reading more because this is the second
novel in Mire Lyn Kelly’s series entitled Dare to Love. Therefore, not only do
I have to go back and read book one Truth or Dare, but I will hopefully have a
book three to look forward to. So yes Ms. Kelly, I loved this story, but I have
one request. Please let book three be about that Ford.
I digress. I highly
recommend that for anyone who is looking for a well written romance novel, with
great characters, and just enough steaminess, run and read Touch & Go by
Mira Lyn Kelly.
